.au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP)
The purpose of the auDRP is to provide a cheaper, speedier alternative to litigation for the resolution of disputes between the registrant of a .au domain name and a party with competing rights in the domain name.
The .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP), including procedural rules, is set out in the .au Dispute Resolution Policy (auDRP) (2008-01).
The auDRP commenced on 1 August 2002 for asn.au, com.au, id.au, net.au and org.au domain names. On 19 June 2003 the auDRP was extended to cover edu.au domain names.
The auDRP is an adaptation of the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) administered by ICANN with respect to the global Top Level Domains (gTLDs).
The auDRP was drafted by auDA's Dispute Resolution Working Group.
How to Lodge an auDRP Complaint
auDA does not handle auDRP complaints.
You must submit your complaint to any auDA approved auDRP Provider. The Provider will appoint an independent arbitrator to determine your complaint.
If you need to know the creation date of the domain name for the purpose of making your complaint, please submit the online Request for Domain Name Creation Date form.
Alternatively you may download and complete the Request for Domain Name Creation Date Form (PDF) then send it to auDA.
